Walk For A Cure!

Greetings All!
I'm writing to you to ask for your support once again for a very special cause.
This year, I'll be taking part in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Walk to Cure Diabetes along with a half-million other walkers across the country. Our goal: To raise $105 million to help fund research for a cure for type 1 diabetes and its complications.
As many of you already know, my daughter MaKayla has Type 1 diabetes. Type 1, or juvenile, diabetes, is a devastating, often deadly disease that affects millions of people--a large and growing percentage of them children.
Many people think type 1 diabetes can be controlled by insulin. While insulin does keep people with type 1 diabetes alive, it is NOT a cure. Aside from the daily challenges of living with type 1 diabetes, there are many severe, often fatal, complications caused by the disease.
That's the bad news... and yes, it's pretty bad.
The good news, though, is that a cure for type 1 diabetes is within reach. In fact, JDRF funding and leadership is associated with most major scientific breakthroughs in type 1 diabetes research to date. And JDRF funds a major portion of all type 1 diabetes research worldwide, more than any other charity.
I'm writing to ask for your support because now more than ever, EACH of us can be a part of bringing about a cure. Each of us can make a real difference
Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as you're able?
Together, we can make the cure a reality.
Thank you,
Tia White

How to look better with 5 great and cheap beauty products

  1. Ion anti-frizz solutions heat protection straightening iron spray- Sally Beauty Supply about $6.49

This is a must have if you EVER flat iron your hair. Don't buy a heat protection off the drug store shelves, because any hair product that you buy in a typical store (department store, pharmacy, grocery store, etc) is going to be junk and do more harm than good. Sally Beauty supply ONLY sells high-quality professional supplies, that's why I trust Ion straightening iron spray to protect my hair. Its simple to use, before you flat iron each section, hold it away from your hair ( about 6") and lightly spray the section you are going to straighten. Repeat the same on a new section before you start flat ironing. I think you will agree this product does an amazing job at smoothing frizz, getting your hair super straight (and staying that way) and preventing breakage from the flat iron. It also smells wonderful and your hair will feel like silk when you are done.

  2. Step2

CVS brand deep cleaning poor strips (combo pack for face and nose)- $7.99 CVS

Some of you might have tried the Biore strips, or still use them. The generic CVS brand is at least a couple of dollars cheaper, and they work A LOT better. I would highly recommend that anyone who DOESN'T have flawless skin invest in at least one box of these. You might not think you have black heads, but these strips grip to your skin so well and so tightly they unclogged a whole lot of dirt, grime, and black heads that you didn't know you had! Sure using them is about as pleasant as yanking a bandaid off, but remember, wet your skin first, and pull them off quickly, your skin will instantly feel more fresh AND you will see the results all over the strip after you've pulled it off (its gross, but kind of cool at the same time!).

  3. Step3

    Downy wrinkle releaser- Walmart $4.69

Just because Downy Wrinkle releaser isn't a beauty product per say, you need to try out a bottle of this, because you'll look ten times better if your clothes aren't wrinkled and smell fresh. Downy wrinkle releaser might even replace your iron ( unless you crumple up an article of damp clothing and want to attempt wearing it 2 days later, you might need to pull out the iron then). At the least, you can get away with using this product instead of your iron, nine times out of ten. I recommend holding it about 8 inches away from the fabric, coating the entire article of clothing with a THIN coat (spray lightly), and pulling the wrinkles out. The bottle suggests letting it air dry completely, but as long as you don't soak your clothes with it, you can throw them on right after and still have the same results. Your clothes will look and smell a lot fresher, which will make you feel more pulled together.

  4. Step4

Loreal true match powder and liquid foundation about $9.99 each at any drug store

You will get more coverage, without clogging up your pores too much, and a longer lasting base with this foundation and powder than you will with any other brand. I highly recommend using both the liquid foundation and the powder to finish it off for a "flawless" look. This great advantage that this line has is that its a very powerful liquid, without being goopy. Because its so fluid, its easily blendable so if you have to mix shades, you will get better results. I haven't had to mix shades as I've found the colors in this line to be more realistic than most ( not too yellow, not too green, not too pink). Oh and my favorite thing about these products is that the powder comes in an awesome case, where the mirror is completely separate and doesn't get covered in makeup.

  5. Step5

Cover girl lip gloss ( the tube and wand kind)- CVS $5.99

I never wear lipstick, so I have always been a lip gloss junky. I am extremely neurotic about picking out the perfect lip gloss, always trying different brands and flopping between shades. I always consider Covergirl lip gloss my tride and true brand. Cover girl lipgloss goes on easily, it comes in a line of flattering shades, it gives you shine and color without being too sticky or too tacky. I have fair skin (not pale) and I consider myself to be fairly rosey-- my favorite shade is Q350 Premier Pink. I always keep a tube of the clear lip gloss on hand as well. Often times stores will have sales on cover girl cosmetics, where they offer products buy one get one 50% . If you come across a sale like this, I recommend taking advantage of it and buying a few tubes that will compliment your skin tone.
